Why a doula?
The word “doula” is an ancient Greek word, meaning “a woman who serves.” A doula is there during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to serve you and your family. So why hire a doula? Do they actually make a difference? Yes! They absolutely do. Here are some statistics on births when the mother has a doula present:
39% Decrease in the risk of a Cesarean Section
15% Increase in the likelihood of spontaneous vaginal birth
40% Decrease in the use of artificial oxytocin (Pitocin)
60% Decrease in requests for an epidural

Did you already have your baby and want some extra support during your early postpartum? Or maybe you want more postpartum support than is included in my other packages.
The daytime package includes:
1 hr planning session, typically at 38 weeks to discuss your goals, schedule, and a tour of the house so I know where everything is.
Breastfeeding and pumping assistance.
Newborn care, diaper changes, bottle feeding either pumped breastmilk or formula
Light housework, baby laundry, tidying, dishes, taking out trash
Meal preparation, cooking
Bathing assistance, post surgery care in the case of a c-section
$50/hr, minimum of 2 hrs per shift
The nighttime package includes:
1 hr planning session, typically at 38 weeks to discuss your goals, schedule, and a tour of the house so I know where everything is.
Newborn care, diaper changes, bottle feeding either pumped breastmilk or formula
Bringing baby to you to breastfeed, if not taking a bottle
Rocking baby or walking with them to help them settle
Waking up when baby wakes up, so you can get the rest you need.
$50/hr, minimum 8 hour shift
